Luis Fong, PMHNP
Luis Fong, PMHNP, is a board-certified family psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner at Spero Psychiatry and Counseling, providing comprehensive psychiatric care to people of all ages in Gilbert, Arizona, and throughout Maricopa County.
Dr. Fong was born in Texas and raised in Mexico. He’s bilingual in English and Spanish, allowing him to serve the practice’s diverse clientele.
Dr. Fong began his professional education at the University of Chicago in Chicago, Illinois, earning his bachelor’s degree in psychology. He then enrolled at Arizona State University in Tempe, obtaining a second bachelor’s degree in nursing and a doctoral degree in nursing practice.
At Spero Psychiatry and Counseling, Dr. Fong takes an integrative and patient-centered treatment approach. He understands that biological, psychological, and social factors affect patient outlooks and that everyone has unique needs.
Dr. Fong diagnoses and treats most psychiatric disorders, but he has special interests in treating anxiety, depression, schizophrenia, and substance use disorders (SUD). Instead of simply trying to mask uncomfortable symptoms, he develops treatment plans focusing on improving wellness.
Outside of work, Dr. Fong enjoys sharing his knowledge with others. He regularly presents at psychiatric conferences on the effectiveness of mindfulness and other related topics.
Dr. Fong welcomes any individual or family seeking high-quality mental health care to Spero Psychiatry and Counseling today.
